What is Market Street?

Market Street is an iphone® (mobile digital device) app designed to keep you in touch with your favourite businesses. This means you can be the first to know of the latest news or offers from your favourite businesses who have signed up to be Merchants on the app.  Unlike the deals’ websites, which often have irrelevant offers or email newsletters which tend to clog your inbox, Market Street becomes one place where you can get relevant information about businesses that you follow.

Why download Market Street?

Market Street provides you with an iphone app to access:

·         All you need to know from your favourite businesses on Market Street

·         A centralised newsfeed with any updates from all your favourite businesses on Market Street

·         News updates from businesses you follow on Market Street

·         Offers and alerts from only businesses you follow on Market Street

Who owns Market Street?

Market Street is owned by Cappitalise Pty Ltd.  Cappitalise develops apps for small to medium sized businesses with a view of keeping businesses and their customers in touch.

What is a follower?

You are a follower when you choose to keep in touch with a Merchant on Market Street by adding that business to the list of businesses on your Market Street homepage.

What is a Merchant?

A Merchant is a business that has a presence on Market Street.  Each Merchant is given access to a “Micro-app” which you can view and which the Merchant can update with their news and offers.

What is the newsfeed?

The newsfeed is a centralised feed of news or offer postings from all the businesses you are following. That means you only need to look in one place to get all the latest updates from your favourite businesses. If you want more information, just click on the posting and you will instantly be taken to the Merchant’s Micro-app.

What is news?

News is a great way for your favourite businesses to keep in touch with you. You may be interested in hearing about new products or services,  such as what is on the menu for lunch today or when an item you are looking for is back in stock.

News from a Merchant is available within their Micro-app and posted as frequently as the Merchant chooses.

What is the difference between news and the newsfeed?

News is posted by a Merchant and appears under the News tab on the Merchant’s app.  The Newsfeed is a tab within the main Market Street screen which lists any offers or news posted by your favourite Merchants. If a Merchant posts news or offers to their app, you will see it, along with all Merchants you are following on your Newsfeed.

What is an offer?

An offer may be a discount or deal offered by a Merchant.

How do I redeem an offer?

Offers can be redeemed in-store or by any instruction provided by the Merchant as part of the offer. Just click on the offer headline for more information.  Some offers require you to quote a code, so look out for this on the offer page.

What is the offer code?

The offer code is a promotional code that you might be asked for by the Merchant to activate the offer.

How do I communicate with a Merchant regarding a news or offer posting?

If you have questions about the offer or would like to provide feedback to the Merchant, you can contact them directly by phoning or emailing them.  To do this, just tap on the Call or Email button on the Merchant’s home page.

What is location services?

Location Services is a feature of Market Street which enables you to search for Merchants close to your current location.  You need to turn on Location Services to enable this functionality.  To do this just click on the settings tab from the Market Street homepage and swipe Location Services to ‘on’. Further details about our Location Services can be found in our Privacy Policy.

What is a push notification?

A push notification is an instant message you will receive from Market Street on your iPhone when one of the Merchant’s you are following uploads an offer.

How do I turn push notifications on/off?

To activate push notifications, just click on the settings tab from the Market Street homepage and swipe Push Notifications to ‘on’ or ‘off’ to suit your preference.

What times will you send me push notifications?

Market Street will only send your push notifications between 7am and 10pm EAST providing you have Push Notifications switched on.  If a Merchant uploads an offer outside these times, the offer will appear on your Market Street newsfeed or under the Merchant’s app on the offer tab.

How do I follow a business?

To follow a business you can either:

1)      Click on the search tab and search for your favourite business. When the search results come up, click on the follow button next to the Merchant you want to follow.

2)      From the following page (Market Street homepage), click on ‘Add Business’ in the top right-hand corner. Search for your favourite business and when the search results come up, click on the follow button next to the Merchant you want to follow.

3)      Click the follow button next to a featured merchant.

How do I make a business a favourite?

At Market Street, following is synonymous with favourite.  To follow a business you can either:

1)      Click on the search tab and search for your favourite business. When the search results come up, click on the follow button next to the Merchant you want to follow.

2)      From the following page (Market Street homepage), click on ‘Add Business’ in the top right-hand corner. Search for your favourite business and when the search results come up, click on the follow button next to the Merchant you want to follow.

3)      Click the follow button next to a featured merchant.

What happens if I follow a business?

Once you are following a business, you will be able to see any news or offers posted by that business, either through the Market Street newsfeed, or through the Merchant’s Micro-app.

How do I search for a business?

To search for Merchants you can either:

1)      Click on the search tab and search for a Merchant. When the search results come up, click on the follow button next to the Merchant you want to follow.

2)      From the following page (Market Street homepage), click on ‘Add Business’ in the top right-hand corner. Search for your favourite business and when the search results come up, click on the follow button next to the Merchant you want to follow.

Note only Merchants who have signed up to the Market Street App will appear.

How do I find out when an offer starts/ends?

The offer start and end dates are included within the offer details.  Click on the offer headline to access the offer details.

How do I find the street address of a Merchant’s offer?

The contact details of the Merchant are included within the Merchant’s Micro-app at the top of the Merchant’s homepage.

How do I find out the phone number for a Merchant?

Just tap on the ‘Call’ button on the Merchant’s homepage to see the Merchant’s phone number or to call them.

Can I call a Merchant?

To call a Merchant, tap on the ‘Call’ button on the Merchant’s homepage.

How do I find out the email address for a Merchant?

Just tap on the ‘Email’ button on the Merchant’s homepage to see the Merchant’s email address or to email them.

Can I email a Merchant?

To email a Merchant, tap on the ‘Email’ button on the Merchant’s homepage.

How do I find out the web address for a Merchant?

Just tap on the ‘Website’ button on the Merchant’s homepage to view the Merchant’s website.

How do I find out where the Merchant is located?

The Merchant’s address is located within the Merchant’s Micro-app at the top of the Merchant’s homepage. To see a map of the location just tap on the ‘Map’ button on the Merchant’s homepage.

Can I send offers from Merchants to my friends?

At the moment, you can’t actually send offers directly to your friends, but you can tell your friends to download Market Street and sign up that Merchant.  You can send them an email directly from our website at www.marketstreet.com.au

What if I can’t find my favourite store?

We are currently talking to many Merchants about joining Market Street.  If you can’t find your favourite merchants then let us know.  We’ll then let them know there are followers waiting for them on Market Street.  Just tap the Refer tab on the main Market Street menu and provide the business details.  You can choose to also provide your own email address if you would like to be updated on our progress.

How can I report incorrect information?

To rectify incorrect or out of date information on a Merchant’s Micro-site, simply email us from the Settings tab.

Once I’m in a Merchant’s app, how do I get back to the home page?

Just click on the “Back to Market Street” button at the top of each page of the app.
